For Individuals (Personal Workspace)
Every Vertex user automatically gets a Personal Workspace. It's the default, individual view tied to your account — separate from any Organization Workspace you might join or create later — and it's where you manage devices on your own, without needing a team.
What You Can Do with a Personal Workspace
- Contribute to open environmental data: Deploy an outdoor monitor on your balcony or backyard and share the readings through AirQo's open data channels.
- Monitor indoor air quality: Track particulate matter in your own space, or use the readings to trigger smart home purifiers.
- Test hardware before a larger rollout: Validate a device or a sensor from a different manufacturer in your Personal Workspace before deploying it as part of an organization's fleet.
Getting Started
- Confirm you're in your Personal Workspace: Check the workspace dropdown in the top right corner of the dashboard. Your Personal Workspace is your default, individual view — if an Organization Workspace is selected instead, switch back.
- Add your device: Go to My Devices and Add an AirQo Device by importing the Cohort ID your AirQo network support contact assigns you during your device transfer, or add a sensor from a different sensor manufacturer via Import a Device.
- Deploy the device: Deploy it to a Site to activate it. Deploying links the device to a physical location, e.g. "Home Backyard" or "Living Room," and changes its status to Deployed.
Ready to Scale Up?
If you need to invite collaborators or manage devices as a team, create an Organization Workspace and migrate your setup there.
