Public Visibility
Public Visibility controls whether a Cohort's devices — and their readings — are exposed through the AirQo platform and its other data access channels, including the AirQo Air Quality Map. Visibility is set per Cohort, not per device or account-wide.
How Visibility Works
- Public — the devices in that cohort, and their readings, become accessible to anyone through the AirQo platform and other data access channels, including the AirQo Air Quality Map. You're contributing to open data.
- Private — data from those devices is visible only within your workspace.
Steps to Change Visibility
You can toggle a cohort's visibility from either of two places:
From the Home dashboard:
- On the Home dashboard, expand the Device Visibility section.
- Find the cohort you want to update and toggle its switch to Public or Private.
- Confirm the change in the dialog that appears.
From a Cohort's Details page:
- In the left sidebar under Data Access & Visibility, click Cohorts, then select the cohort you want to update.
- On the Cohort Details page, toggle the Visibility switch.
- Confirm the change in the dialog that appears.
[!WARNING] Making a cohort Public means the location and readings of every device in it become accessible to anyone through the AirQo platform and other data access channels, including the public AirQo Map.
